The choreography by Jeff Davis, executed expertly by Chelsea Retzloff and Randy Burd, in particular, was creative and engaging. I did not expect to find so much dance in the Old West, but I was thankful that the show gave an avenue to such grace of movement."

Embracing a more nostalgic style—to delightful effect—was Jeff Davis’s “My Angelina,” set to the music of Harry Belafonte. Davis’s choreography had a swinging, flowing quality that perfectly matched the laid back, island feel of Belafonte’s score, with mambo influences tingeing its classic jazz foundation. Particularly creative was the use of partnering within the piece, as Davis smartly crafted partnering phrases between the male dancers in addition to male-female duos.

Jeff Davis’s “My Angelina” premiere enraptured the audience with a set design of island bliss—a wine bottle, crate, and red rose—intertwined blissfully to the voice of Harry Belafonte’s Caribbean essence aligned with that of the dancers’ playful, stress-free partnerships.

“FRENCH TRiO.” Embodying a 1960s Parisian vibe through its blend of 60s social dance steps and “cool” isolated movements, the piece had a distinct classicism that stood out against the evening’s more modern takes on jazz.

"Romantic Moonphase" A modern-day Giselle Act I without the intense drama. The bench was one of the reminders for me of that ballet. However, it was the chemistry of dancers, Jeff Davis and Alice Pucheu, which sparkled. Each person had a chance to demonstrate their particular skills and then dance as a pair. Mr. Davis gave us clown-type moves with fantastic quick steps. The prop allowed the act to be three-dimensional and I thought was a nice addition to the already thrilling performance. Interestingly, Mr. Davis was the choreographer and a great showman.
