JEFF DAVIS

New York City based performer, Choreographer & Director

 

 

 

                               

 

 

JEFF DAVIS is Artistic Director of Jeff Davis Dance and Glitter Kitty Theater. He recently Directed and Choreographed The Gunfighter Meets his Match at the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) and Joe's Pub. He has also created evening length works One for the Ages! at Theater for the New City, The Dick and Anita Holiday Hour and The Lovely WiLDS! with composer Elliot Roth at the Secret Theater. He recently premiered My Angelina his 7th original work for the NYC Jazz Dance Project and French Trio at the Fresh Fruit Festival. He helped conceptualize and stage lavish production numbers for Attack Theatre's annual Dirty Ball. He is former co-Artistic Director of the Hudson Vagabond Puppets, touring and staging large scale puppetry. As a performer, he has been featured with Labyrinth Dance Theater, NYC Children's Theater, Broadway Dance Lab, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Zullo/Raw Movement, Attack Theatre, Pittsburgh Opera & Pittsburgh CLO: West Side Story (Diesel), Oklahoma! (Dream Curly), Carousel (Carnival boy). Nat'l tour: FOSSE.

Receiving a BA in dance from Point Park University his choreography showcased at the American College Dance Festival. He has developed a unique style of partnering techniques, choreography & teaching methods for all levels of dancers. He has taught classes & workshops at Carnegie Mellon University, Two River Theater, Pittsburgh CLO Academy, CAPA High School, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the Pennsylvania Governors School.
